Nokia N5 Run Nokia’s RM-701 Latest Anna Version of Symbian

Nokia’s RM-701 latest Symbian smartphone, the N5, RM-701 passed through tthe FCC on July 21, 2011.  The device, known by the model number RM-701 in FCC filings, the device recently picked up a collective nod of approval for GSM 850, 1700 and 1900 bands, in addition to WCDMA bands II, IV and V. That means the N5 RM-701 will support 3G bands for both T-Mobile and AT&T in the United States.

The N5 RM-701 will run Nokia’s latest Anna version of Symbian.  Although the future doesn’t look particularly bright for Symbian, RM-701’s good to see that Nokia seems committed to bringing its current crop of Symbian phones to market. Not only that, the Nokia N5 also did pick up approval for its NFC capabilities, not to mention Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. While you will not find the Nokia N5 RM-701 run on Symbian Belle, at least it has the operating system version before that, known as Symbian Anna.

Nokia RM-701 hasn’t released much information about the N5 RM-701 so far, but leaks do indicate that the device will sport a 5MP camera with LED flash and Browser 7.4.  Images of the device have also leaked, and match up with the label pics of the N5 RM-701 in FCC filings, above.  No information on pricing or a release date.
